Qatar Expresses Its Concern Over The Developments In Sudan, Calls On All Parties To Contain The Situation

Baghdad, The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed today, Monday, its concern over the development of the situation in Sudan, and called on all parties to contain the situation and not to escalate.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry also expressed its aspiration to return the political process to the right track in order to achieve the aspirations of the Sudanese people.

It called on the parties in Sudan to give precedence to the voice of wisdom and to work in the interest of the brotherly Sudanese people towards stability, justice and peace.

At dawn today, Monday, the Sudanese army arrested a number of ministers, including Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok, and other civilian leaders.

Later, the head of the Transitional Sovereign Council in Sudan, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, announced, during a press conference, the dissolution of the Transitional Sovereign Council and the Council of Ministers, the declaration of a state of emergency in the country, and the dismissal of state governors.
