Doha: The State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the legal and judicial fields between the two countries' Ministries of Justice. The agreement was formalized by HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali bin Issa Al Hassan Al Mohannadi, and HE Minister of Justice of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Walid bin Mohammed Al-Samaani. The signing ceremony was attended by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bandar bin Mohammed Al Attiyah.
According to Qatar News Agency, the MoU underscores the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation to include various legal and judicial aspects. It reflects a mutual desire to enhance collaboration in line with the legislation in both countries. The agreement aims to bolster cooperation between the two ministries in areas such as notarization, the legal profession, alternative dispute resolution, and the development of legal and judicial expertise. Additionally, it emphasizes the exchange of experiences in legal and judicial training and the use of technology and artificial intelligence in legal domains.
The MoU encourages the sharing of successful judicial and legal experiences within the ministries. This will be facilitated through the exchange of expert visits, joint conferences, seminars, meetings, training courses, and workshops. The partnership aims to foster various forms of legal cooperation and partnership, strengthening the legal frameworks of both nations.
