Doha:A devastating crash involving a Nigerian Air Force plane has resulted in the deaths of 32 individuals, as confirmed by Nigeria's President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to Qatar News Agency, the incident involved 25 passengers and 7 flight crew members. The President's Office issued a statement expressing condolences to the families affected by this tragic event.

Earlier reports from Nigeria's Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, indicated that the aircraft lost communication with the air traffic control tower while en route to Lagos. The crash occurred in the southwest region of Nigeria, near a naval base in the Igbukoda District of Ondo State.

The wreckage has been located, and search and rescue operations are currently underway as efforts continue to manage the aftermath of the crash.
