MOCI Partners with Microsoft to Launch Unified Digital Platform in Qatar

Doha: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), in cooperation with Microsoft, has launched a unified platform designed to unify and develop its services, enhance operational excellence, empower the private sector, and provide more advanced digital services to consumers and investors.

According to Qatar News Agency, the platform launch is part of MOCI's efforts to accelerate the transition toward an integrated digital government, leveraging Microsoft's global expertise in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. The platform, built using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Dynamics 365 technologies, integrates over 140 electronic services, including licensing, permits, and registration services, within a unified digital environment. This initiative aims to adopt an integrated framework for interactive artificial intelligence to benefit the economy and business sector in Qatar.

The unified platform aims to improve the efficiency of government performance and simplify procedures by automating daily operations and updating existing systems. This contributes to increased operational efficiency, reduced maintenance costs, and enhanced institutional flexibility. Additionally, it provides advanced digital tools for ministry employees to support data-driven decision-making, along with 24/7 support via virtual assistants, and customized services to meet business needs, while maintaining high standards of security and privacy.

Director of the Information Technology Department at the MOCI, Ahmed Ali Al Kuwari, described the collaboration with Microsoft as a pivotal step in the ministry's journey toward a more advanced and efficient digital government. This initiative aims to improve service quality for consumers and accelerate innovation, thereby solidifying Qatar's position as a hub for digital innovation in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy.

General Manager of Microsoft Qatar, Ahmed El Dandachi, emphasized Microsoft's commitment to privacy and security standards in supporting MOCI's digital transformation journey. The unified platform not only ensures data confidentiality but also provides a reliable digital environment that fosters business growth. By enhancing trust in digital services, the initiative opens new opportunities for growth and innovation, supporting the Qatari economy and business environment.

The unified platform is a crucial component of the digital government strategy to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030, offering an integrated digital experience focused on users. It supports efforts to diversify the national economy and promote innovation, consolidating Qatar's regional position in government digital transformation. The platform also enables the private sector to efficiently complete transactions electronically, reducing the need for in-person visits, saving time and effort, and contributing to an improved business environment and enhanced economic sustainability.
