Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani met on Sunday with United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk, who is visiting Iraq.

They discussed avenues to strengthen cooperation between the two sides in a variety of fields, especially with respect to ensuring protection and respect for human rights.

Iraqi Prime Minister affirmed the Iraqi government's keenness on respecting human rights, while UN High Commissioner expressed his appreciation for the Iraqi government efforts in facilitating the work of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner in Iraq.
