Council of Arab Information Ministers Designates Doha as Arab Media Capital for 2027

Cairo: At the conclusion of its 55th ordinary session held at the headquarters of the Arab League, the Council of Arab Information Ministers decided to designate Doha as the Arab Media Capital for 2027. The council also approved the designation of Rabat as the Arab Media Capital for 2026 and Damascus for 2028.

According to Qatar News Agency, in its final communique, the council called on the Kingdom of Morocco to implement essential procedures to advance a comprehensive program celebrating Rabat as the Arab Media Capital for 2026. This program is expected to include dedicated activities and events for Al-Quds Al-Sharif.

The Council further urged Arab media to give special attention to the issue of occupied Jerusalem, implementing the decision to treat this holy city as the eternal Arab Media Capital.

Additionally, the Council praised the efforts of the State of Kuwait in celebrating its designation as the Arab Media Capital for 2025. The General Secretariat was requested to be provided with a report on efforts and activities conducted throughout 2025, with the intention of circulating this information to member states for reference in future experiences.
