Aman Center Hosts Interactive Forum for International Day Against Violence Toward Women

Doha: The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (Aman), part of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, organized an interactive forum to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25. The event focused on creating a safe environment to strengthen families and drew participation from social, psychological, and legal specialists, influential Qatari women, and community members interested in social protection and women's issues.

According to Qatar News Agency, the forum aimed to further Aman Center's mission of enhancing social protection and rehabilitation. This involves raising awareness of women's social issues, reducing violence and family disintegration, equipping women with new skills, and providing psychological and social support while fostering the exchange of expertise in social protection.

Acting Executive Director of Aman Center, Fadhel Al Kaabi, stressed the importance of such forums in highlighting social protection issues, particularly for women, children, and those affected by family disintegration due to violence. The center's main objective is to offer social protection and reintegration for these vulnerable groups.

The forum concentrated on two key themes: family safety and the role of international institutions, and legal and societal solidarity in safeguarding women from violence. Bakhita Al Ghayathin, Director of Community Awareness at Aman Center, emphasized the significance of interactive discussions in addressing women's issues from various perspectives and devising effective solutions.

Hanan Al Ali, Director of the Communication and Media Office at Aman Center, highlighted the center's commitment to participating in both local and international events. She pointed out that the forum underscored the center's role in providing protection and social rehabilitation for women and children affected by domestic violence, along with offering consultations and organizing rehabilitation programs and awareness campaigns.

The event attracted over 150 participants from diverse sectors, who engaged actively through questions and discussions. A parallel art exhibition showcased creative works by beneficiaries of the centers under the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, allowing them to express their artistic talents through colors and visual art.

Aman Center is also involved in a series of awareness initiatives as part of the national "16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence" campaign, which runs until December 10. These activities include the interactive forum, awareness booths across the country, and a media campaign on social media platforms featuring videos and awareness messages.
