Doha: Table toppers Al Gharafa edged Al Wakrah 1-0 in Week 10 of the 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium of Al Gharafa club on Friday. The match was a closely contested affair, with Al Gharafa managing to maintain their lead and secure the win.

According to Qatar News Agency, the all-important goal came from Al Gharafa captain Yacine Brahimi, who scored from the penalty spot in the 34th minute. The penalty was awarded after Ayoub Mohammed Al Oui was brought down by Al Wakrah's Fahad Waad at the edge of the penalty box. Brahimi confidently converted the penalty, giving his team the lead.

Following the goal, Al Gharafa, known as The Cheetahs, maintained their defensive strength and denied Al Wakrah any opportunity to equalize. Al Wakrah, also known as The Blue Wave, came close to scoring when one of their kicks hit the right post, but they were unable to find the back of the net.

Al Gharafa's victory marks their eighth win in the league championship, bringing their total points to 25. Meanwhile, the defeat leaves Al Wakrah with 15 points after suffering their third loss of the season.
