New York:Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump have engaged in discussions aimed at ending the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, focusing on the possibility of an energy ceasefire between Kyiv and Moscow.

According to Qatar News Agency, Zelenskyy spoke to reporters following his meeting with Trump, which took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. During this interaction, Zelenskyy expressed Ukraine's readiness to explore any format for an energy ceasefire with Russia. However, he clarified that there had been no discussions about Ukraine unilaterally ceasing attacks on Russian oil refineries.

Zelenskyy also emphasized his willingness to participate in a trilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, involving Trump as well. He expressed hope that the United States could facilitate the return of Moscow to the negotiating table, following the breakdown of talks earlier in the year.
