Abu nakhla: Widam Food Company, a Qatari public shareholding company, has launched a camel abattoir at Abu Nakhla Camel Market, as well as a mobile abattoir operating at the company's sheep sales yard in the same area. According to Qatar News Agency, the company announced that the establishment of these two abattoirs aligns with its strategy to enhance the quality of its services and products, in response to the increasing demand for camel meat. The camel abattoir is expected to bolster food security and self-sufficiency in Qatar by supplying fresh camel meat to both local residents and the commercial sector, thereby fulfilling the daily market demand. Ayedh Al Qahtani, CEO of Widam Food Company, stated that the abattoirs are equipped with high standards of health and food safety to serve the needs of residents and businesses. The camel abattoir boasts a daily production capacity exceeding 100 camels, while the mobile abattoir can handle over 200 sheep daily, ensuring swift processing and order fulfillment. Widam Food Company is a key supplier of live livestock and a range of meat products to the Qatari market. It also manages operations at the automated abattoir in Al Wakrah Central Market, along with several other local abattoirs.
