New York: Major stock indices on Wall Street closed higher at the end of Friday's trading session.

According to Qatar News Agency, the S and P 500 rose 60.36 points, or 1.02 percent, to close at 5,999.66. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite index rose 227.67 points, or 1.18 percent, to close at 19,526.12. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 440.08 points, or 1.04 percent, to close at 42,759.82.
