UN Condemns Killing of Two Palestinians as “Extrajudicial Execution” by Israeli Forces

Geneva: The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNCHR) in Geneva condemned the killing of two Palestinians by Israeli occupation forces in Jenin, describing the incident as an "extrajudicial execution."

According to Qatar News Agency, UNCHR spokesperson Jeremy Laurence stated that the incident reflects an escalating pattern of violations with impunity. He highlighted that since October 7, 2023, 1,030 Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

Laurence emphasized that the death toll continues to rise, whether at the hands of Israeli forces or settlers, without any real accountability. In response to the situation, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, advocated for independent, swift, and effective investigations into these incidents.

Turk also called for serious measures to be taken to end impunity and to address settler violence. He stressed the importance of holding all those responsible for serious violations of international law accountable to ensure justice and prevent further escalation.
