The White House Confirms: We Do Not Want A Crisis With China

Baghdad Washington confirmed, on Friday, that it does not seek to escalate tensions with China, and that the lines of communication between the two countries are important to avoid misunderstanding.

The White House said, in a statement, that “China’s suspension of dialogue on important issues with the United States is an irresponsible decision.”

“All channels of communication between Chinese and US military leaders have not been closed, and we will take steps to defend national interests and security obligations in the region,” it added.

“We condemn China’s imposition of sanctions on family members of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi,” it added.

The White House reiterated that “the United States does not want a crisis with China.”

It pointed out that “allies in the region express the same concerns as Washington about China’s actions towards Taiwan.”

The White House stressed “the need for China to end military exercises to reduce tensions over Taiwan.”
