Baghdad- Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said that US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will leave on September 5 to visit Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Kirby said during a press conference that the purpose of Austin’s visit is to thank the aforementioned countries for their cooperation and assistance on Afghanistan, as well as confirming the military partnership between the United States and these countries.
He added, “This will be his first trip to the Middle East, and it is clearly a very appropriate time to thank these countries for their support.
