Qatar University (QU) has officially announced the launch of the College of Nursing, becoming the fifth college under the umbrella of the Health and Medical Sciences Sector, and eleventh in the list of colleges in the university.
According to QU’s announcement, starting in the Fall of 2022, the college will offer a four-year program leading to a Bachelor of Nursing. The College aspires to be a model for education, research, and service excellence, as well as delivering innovative academic nursing programs that meet international standards and national healthcare needs.
Prof. Asma Al Thani, Vice President of the University for Health and Medical Sciences, stressed the importance of this new collage, she said, “The College of Nursing is the fifth college within QU Health, along with the Colleges of Medicine and Dentistry, Health Sciences and Pharmacy. The establishment of the college aims to provide the community with world-class qualified nurses who are committed to providing health care in line with the national health strategy in the State of Qatar”.
