QNA Participates in Third Edition of ‘Little Employee’ Initiative

Qatar News Agency (QNA) participated in the third edition of the ‘Little Employee’ initiative, which is organized by the Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.

The initiative offers students aged 7-15 an opportunity to help their parents or relatives at their workplace for a whole day to explore the nature of real professional life, and encourage them to think about their professional interests in an interesting and fun way.

QNA hosted 51 male and female students who are the children of the agency’s employees and gave them the opportunity to have a unique experience. The students toured the agency’s various departments and listened to a simplified explanation of job details, in addition to practicing some editorial and technical work in a bid to closely watch the employees’ professional life. Following the tour, the participating students received gifts.

QNA’s participation in the initiative stems from its belief in supporting creative and innovative ideas, in addition to cooperating with various state institutions in achieving human development goals and investing in future generations, in order to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The Little Employee initiative aims to provide the employees’ children with the opportunity to experience the real work environment and learn some skills, and to help students explore their interests and tendencies. It also helps them get acquainted with some of the professional options offered in the labor market, and the skills necessary to follow a specific career path.

QCDC seeks to enhance the role of the family as a key factor in determining the individual’s professional identity, by helping parents communicate with their children, talking to them about their current and future educational path, as well as their professional goals, and strengthening the role of parents in directing their children professionally, in belief of the role of the family as a fundamental factor in determining the individual’s professional identity
