Doha: Qatar Football Association (QFA) announced the resumption of futsal competitions starting from the next sports season (2025-2026), after coordinating with clubs to prepare for the launch of the competitions. In a statement on Monday, the QFA said that the competitions will feature the league championship and the activation tournament, with schedules and other details to be announced at a later date.

According to Qatar News Agency, this decision comes within the framework of QFA's efforts to promote team sports and expand participation. It is worth noting that the Qatar futsal championship was launched in the 2006-2007 season. Al Rayyan won the title of the last edition in the 2011-2012 season.
