Qatar: Qatar University (QU) will host the Joud Charity Festival from September 6 to 10 on campus, coinciding with the International Day of Charity, to promote a culture of giving and raise financial support for the Joud Student Support Fund.

According to Qatar News Agency, the University stated that the fund receives donations and grants from institutions and individuals to assist eligible students, including contributions toward tuition and housing fees and laptop loans for those facing financial difficulties. Licensed by the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities in November 2023, the fund supports the University's efforts to strengthen student assistance and ensure sustainable funding for educational initiatives.

QU's Director of the Student Services Department, Khulood Al Otaibi, emphasized that the Joud Festival embodies Qatar University's mission to provide inclusive education and sustainable support for its students. She noted that it contributes to strengthening community solidarity and affirms that financial circumstances should not hinder students' academic aspirations and excellence.

Al Otaibi further remarked that the festival's launch is part of the University's broader support for student initiatives and its efforts to promote community sustainability. Several project owners were selected based on specific criteria, allowing them to showcase and introduce their projects and products to the University community.

The festival will feature interactive activities offering the University community and visitors various ways to support the fund. It is organized in partnership with several internal and external entities, with support from sponsors and partners.
