DOHA — Qatar’s team B emerged victorious in the GCC 3X3 Basketball Championship held at the local Basketball Federation hall.
According to Qatar News Agency, team B, comprising Abdullah Yassin, Bobo Magasa, Faisal Abu Issa, and Muhammad Ndo, secured the championship title after edging out Kuwait’s team with a close 18-17 victory in the final match. In a contest for third place, Kuwait’s team B defeated Qatar’s team A with a score of 21-17, taking home the bronze medal.
The two-day event, which welcomed teams from Kuwait, Oman, and host nation Qatar, was part of the cooperative efforts tied to Expo 2023 Doha. Saadoun Sabah Al Kuwari, the Secretary General of the QBF, expressed satisfaction with the Qatari team’s performance, attributing their success to the dedication exhibited throughout the competition.
Al Kuwari also highlighted the championship’s return after an eight-year hiatus, noting the future tournaments scheduled to take place, with Oman set to host the next edition in February followed by Kuwait.
