According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar Foundation, in collaboration with international partners including Autism Speaks and UNICEF, has launched a new phase of autism-support initiatives during the United Nations General Assembly. Supported by the World Health Organization, this alliance aims to unify global efforts to enhance services, policies, research, and innovation to promote the inclusion of people with autism and their families worldwide. The initiative emphasizes the transition from awareness to tangible actions by providing necessary resources and coordinating efforts to address common challenges.
The Autism Strategy 2025-2035 aligns with national efforts to streamline work in this domain, establish priorities for joint action, and support integration among stakeholders. This strategy aims to strengthen the exchange of knowledge and develop services that contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable environment for individuals with autism and their families in Qatar.
Additionally, the Ministry of Public Health in Qatar recently concluded the 12th Qatar Patient Safety Week under the theme "Safe Care for Life!" This event coincided with the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to establish a cancer treatment hospital in Qatar. The country's commitment to healthcare has been highlighted by significant advancements and international recognition for its integrated healthcare systems, comparable to leading global standards.
Qatar has also expressed its intention to host the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games, showcasing its evolving sports capabilities and extensive experience in hosting major international events.
