Rabat: The State of Qatar has achieved a commendable 3rd place finish in the 20th edition of the Mohammed VI International Prize for the Memorization, Recitation, Tajweed, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran, hosted in Morocco's capital city.
According to Qatar News Agency, the event was held at the Mohammed VI Institute for the Training of Imams Morchidines and Morchidates in Rabat. The competition attracted participants from around the world, all showcasing their expertise in Quranic memorization and recitation.
Yousef Ahmed Asheer proudly represented Qatar in the competition, competing in the category dedicated to memorizing the entire Holy Quran along with its recitation and interpretation. His participation underscores Qatar's dedication to promoting excellence in Quranic studies.
The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs commented on the significance of Qatar's involvement in such international Quranic competitions. It stressed that this participation aligns with Qatar's commitment to fostering outstanding Quran memorizers and preparing them for global platforms.
The Ministry highlighted that the success of Qatari contestants in international forums is a testament to the quality of its Quranic programs. It further emphasized the Ministry's dedication to cultivating a generation skilled in Quran memorization, recitation, and interpretation.
These efforts, the Ministry added, not only enhance Qatar's role in serving the Holy Quran but also help in promoting its core values of tolerance.
