The State of Qatar participated in the 11th Session of the Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers held in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku.

The delegation of the State of Qatar to the conference was headed by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Azerbaijan Faisal bin Abdullah Al Hanzab with the participation of Qatar Tourism.

The Baku Declaration, issued at the conclusion of the 11th Session of the Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers, congratulated the State of Qatar on hosting the major sporting event /FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022/, noting that hosting this tournament for the first time in an Islamic country would contribute to strengthening the tourism sector within the Islamic world.

The conference endorsed the nomination of the State of Qatar for the Coordination Committee on Tourism to implement the framework of development and cooperation among the member states of the organization for the next four years ( 2022-2026 ).
