Qatar Media Corporation Secures Key Role in International Broadcasting Union

Accra:Qatar Media Corporation took part in the 11th Executive Council meeting of the OIC States Broadcasting Union (OSBU) and the Union's General Assembly meeting. These meetings were held remotely and included representatives from member states. According to Qatar News Agency, the corporation was represented by Abdullah Ghanem Al Muhannadi, Sheikh Fahad Mohammed Al-Thani, and Abdullah Saeed Al Nabit, all from the Office of International Cooperation and Agreements. The discussions focused on enhancing media cooperation, supporting OSBU's progress, and advancing media programs and initiatives. One significant outcome from the meetings was the renewal of Qatar's membership in the Executive Council for the 2026-2027 session, highlighting the country's important role in promoting collaborative media efforts among member states. Additionally, the meetings approved Qatar's hosting of the OSBU's second media forum in Doha, scheduled for March 2027, and the organization of the seventh meeting of Quran radio direct ors. Qatar Media Corporation emphasized that hosting these events aligns with the country's commitment to fostering media cooperation and sharing expertise within the OIC member states. This effort supports initiatives aimed at advancing media actions and strengthening the presence of Islamic media on both regional and global platforms.
