Qatar Engages in GCC Agriculture and Food Security Meeting in Kuwait

Kuwait city: The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Municipality, participated in a preparatory committee meeting of undersecretaries focused on agriculture and food security within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

According to Qatar News Agency, this participation aligns with Qatar's efforts to enhance joint Gulf actions and bolster the food security system among the member states. The Qatari delegation was led by Eng. Fahad Mohammed Al Qahtani, the Assistant Undersecretary for Agriculture and Food Security Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality.

Qatar's involvement in the meeting is part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening Gulf partnerships and advancing food security initiatives. These efforts are in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to achieve sustainable food self-sufficiency and advance the agriculture, livestock, and fisheries sectors.

The meeting addressed several topics concerning the enhancement of Gulf food security. Discussions included the implementation of joint strategies, the development of food supply chains, coordination in agricultural production and livestock development, and a review of recent initiatives to support agricultural sustainability and food security across GCC countries.
