Doha:Cote d'Ivoire: Qatar Charity (QC) successfully completed 58 development and relief projects in Cote d'Ivoire during the first eight months of 2026, benefiting approximately 63,000 people with support from donors in Qatar.
According to Qatar News Agency, the projects spanned various sectors, including water and sanitation, healthcare, education, economic empowerment, and emergency relief. These initiatives aimed to enhance living conditions, improve access to essential services, support livelihoods, and assist communities affected by disasters.
In the domain of water and sanitation, Qatar Charity implemented 16 projects, which included constructing 12 shallow wells and four deep artesian wells. These efforts provided around 27,500 people with access to clean and safe water, contributing to better public health and environmental conditions.
In healthcare, QC supplied health centers with medical supplies and equipment, and provided manual and electric wheelchairs, as well as prescription glasses, to people with disabilities. These healthcare services reached about 4,019 individuals, enhancing healthcare access and promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities.
For education and religious services, Qatar Charity built 11 mosques and three Quran memorization centers, benefiting around 2,000 people. These facilities offer spaces for religious education, Quran learning, and community activities.
To promote economic empowerment, QC carried out projects that provided water coolers, plumbing tools, and sewing machines. This initiative benefited 151 people, supporting them in establishing or developing income-generating activities.
Additionally, Qatar Charity conducted a relief project that distributed food baskets to approximately 19,000 people, assisting vulnerable families in meeting their basic food needs and alleviating financial pressures.
The Cote d'Ivoire branch of Qatar Charity announced its intention to continue implementing projects throughout the rest of 2026, focusing on expanding access to essential services, supporting sustainable development, and empowering vulnerable communities.
