Qatar Chamber and Philippines Chamber Discuss Strengthening Economic Ties

Doha: Qatar Chamber (QCCI) hosted the Qatari-Philippine Business Meeting, co-chaired by HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani and HE President of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Enunina Mangio. The meeting, attended by key figures such as HE First Vice-Chairman Mohammed bin Twar Al Kuwari, HE Second Vice-Chairman Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba, and HE Ambassador Extraordinary of the Republic of the Philippines to Qatar Mardomil Celo D. Melicor, focused on enhancing economic and commercial relations between Qatar and the Philippines.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting explored opportunities to strengthen ties and discussed the investment climate across various sectors. HE Sheikh Khalifa emphasized the significant development of Qatari-Filipino relations in recent years, noting the impactful visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Manila in April 2024, which resulted in several key agreements. He highlighted the alignment between Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Development Plan of the Philippines as a foundation for a long-term strategic partnership, identifying critical sectors such as agriculture, renewable energy, technology, healthcare, and infrastructure.

HE PCCI President Enunina Mangio expressed appreciation for the Business Forum, noting its reflection of shared goals and commitment to implementing agreements from HH the Amir's visit. She emphasized the tangible cooperation opportunities in sectors like healthcare, construction, real estate, and digitalization, inviting Qatari business owners to explore investment opportunities in the Philippines.

HE Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari highlighted Qatari businessmen's interest in Philippine investment opportunities, noting existing joint ventures and the potential for strengthening these partnerships through regular engagement. Both sides presented and reviewed investment opportunities across various sectors, aiming to transform agreements into concrete business collaborations.
