Doha: The Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) convened on Monday to review organizational and technical plans for the 2025-2026 season, approving several strategic recommendations aimed at the comprehensive development of basketball in Qatar. This meeting marked the fourth gathering of the Federation's Board of Directors, presided over by Mohammed bin Saad Al Mughaiseeb, and was attended by board members.
According to Qatar News Agency, the board meticulously examined the agenda items, formalizing the minutes from the previous meeting and preparing for the upcoming Ordinary General Assembly, which is scheduled for 5 February. This preparation involves organizing the files to be presented along with the necessary technical and administrative reports.
During the meeting, the board laid out the Federation's strategic direction for the upcoming phase, with a focus on enhancing both administrative and technical aspects, broadening the player base, and bolstering national teams. Furthermore, they reviewed updates to the QBF's regulations and statutes to ensure alignment with modern standards and international federation requirements.
The meeting also featured discussions on proposals from the Competitions Committee regarding the new season, including the final plan for women's league competitions. The board reaffirmed its commitment to supporting women's sports and fostering competitiveness through structured plans.
