Doha: The 4th session of the Joint Economic, Trade and Technical Committee between the Governments of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Azerbaijan convened in Qatar on Tuesday, attended by senior officials and representatives from the public and private sectors of both countries.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed and HE Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kamaladdin Heydarov presided over the session. In his opening remarks, Dr. Al Sayed highlighted the commitment of both nations to enhancing their bilateral relations, particularly in economic, commercial, and investment areas.
HE Minister Al Sayed emphasized the solid foundation of mutual respect and shared interests that underpin the Qatari-Azerbaijani relations. He noted that the session provided an opportunity to evaluate previous achievements and explore further cooperation in priority sectors such as energy, infrastructure, renewable energy, logistics, food security, tourism, and digital transformation. He reiterated Qatar's dedication to expanding economic partnerships and promoting mutual investments to benefit both countries.
The Minister also underscored the importance of empowering the private sectors of both countries to forge new industrial and commercial partnerships. He called for the effective implementation and monitoring of signed agreements, as well as the facilitation of trade exchanges to support bilateral economic relations.
HE Minister Heydarov of Azerbaijan affirmed the meeting's reflection of strong bilateral relations and a mutual commitment to enhancing economic, commercial, and technical cooperation. He praised the Qatar-Azerbaijan Business Council's productive meeting, which supported partnerships between the business sectors of both nations and identified new investment projects.
Both sides concluded the session by reiterating their commitment to ongoing constructive cooperation, aiming to strengthen partnerships in economic, commercial, and technical fields. This cooperation is intended to broaden cooperation horizons and achieve sustainable development for the peoples of Qatar and Azerbaijan.
