Tehran: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, engaged in a strategic meeting with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, in Tehran on Thursday. The discussion focused on regional developments and initiatives aimed at reducing tensions, which are crucial for enhancing regional security and stability.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting also examined ongoing discussions about the proposed interim framework. This framework includes the establishment of a temporary joint shipping corridor through the Strait of Hormuz and an agreement on a joint project for clearing mines from the strait. These measures are expected to facilitate safer navigation and promote regional cooperation.

During the meeting, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted the importance of respecting the sovereignty of neighboring countries and maintaining freedom of navigation. He emphasized the need for ongoing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and resolve disputes through dialogue. HE the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his appreciation to the State of Qatar for its diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and fostering dialogue.
