Kathmandu: The death toll from floods and mudslides that swept border areas between Nepal and China has risen to 1,130, with 4,462 people missing. The Nepal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority reported these figures as the impact of the devastating natural disaster continues to unfold.

According to Qatar News Agency, the authority stated that in Nepal alone, the death toll has climbed to at least 1,114, with 3,916 individuals still unaccounted for. The situation is similarly dire across the border in China, where reports indicate that 16 people have died in Tibet and 546 remain missing. This brings the combined toll in the two countries to 1,130 dead and 4,462 missing.

The flash floods and mudslides, which occurred last week, have wreaked havoc on areas along the border between Nepal and Chinese Tibet. The natural disaster has devastated villages and caused extensive damage to roads and infrastructure, complicating rescue and recovery efforts in the affected regions.
