Ministry of Municipality Hosts Events Across Municipalities for World Children’s Day

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality organized a series of awareness and recreational events in several municipalities to celebrate World Children's Day, observed annually on Nov. 20.

According to Qatar News Agency, these events reflect the Ministry's commitment to promoting environmental awareness among children and instilling the values of sustainability, based on its belief in the importance of investing in future generations and building environmental awareness that aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030.

In this context, Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality organized an event at Al Khor Family Park in cooperation with Al Khor Cultural Center, Al Khor Sports Club, and the Family Empowerment Department. The event featured interactive workshops on recycling, agriculture, and the fundamentals of sustainability, presented by the Public Parks Department in a simplified manner for children, in addition to recreational activities that saw a large turnout from families.

In Al Shamal Municipality, World Children's Day activities were held at the Kids Street Park in Abu Dhalouf, with the participation of Qatar Cyclists from the Ministry of Sports and Youth.

Doha Municipality, represented by its Public Parks Department, participated in an interactive agricultural workshop organized by the Early Childhood Center at the College of Education, Qatar University.

Similarly, the Parks Department of Al Wakrah Municipality carried out a set of awareness and recreational activities in cooperation with Al Wafaa Model Kindergarten and School for Boys.

The Ministry of Municipality affirmed that its participation in World Children's Day stems from its ongoing commitment to engaging children in environmental activities and promoting awareness of social and environmental values, thus contributing to building an environmentally conscious and responsible generation.
