Doha:The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs is organizing the second Kitab Al-Ummah Forum on October 5-6 at Qatar University's College of Law.
According to Qatar News Agency, the event is held in collaboration with Qatar University and will gather distinguished researchers, academics, and specialists. It represents a significant scientific and institutional partnership between the Ministry's Department of Islamic Research and Studies and Qatar University's College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, along with the Ibn Khaldun Center for Humanities and Social Sciences. The forum aims to revitalize the cultural role of its book series, building on a scientific legacy spanning over four decades, to foster intellectual awareness and Islamic identity in line with the Ministry's strategic plan and Qatar National Vision 2030.
The forum will address four key themes. The first theme focuses on renewing contemporary Islamic discourse and tackling outreach and influence challenges. The second theme examines identity issues amidst globalization and Westernization, emphasizing ways to reinforce core principles and social cohesion.
The third theme explores the epistemological foundations of divine laws governing humanity and the universe, shaping historical and societal development. The fourth theme discusses the jurisprudence of balancing competing considerations, setting priorities to guide decision-making and anticipate future visions.
Participants are required to submit analytical scholarly papers on one of the highlighted themes, based on the series' publications, adhering to rigorous academic criteria, and with a length of 15,000 to 20,000 words.
