Doha:An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale struck the coast of eastern Taiwan on Wednesday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter was located at 23.77 degrees north latitude and 122.96 degrees east longitude.

There have been no immediate reports of casualties or material damage resulting from the earthquake.
