Minister of Transport Engages in Strategic Talks with Maltese, Nigerian, and Iranian Officials

London: HE Minister of Transport Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Thani recently conducted a series of separate meetings with high-ranking officials from Malta, Nigeria, and Iran. The discussions, held in conjunction with the 34th session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Assembly, aimed to strengthen cooperative relations in the transport and maritime sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, Sheikh Mohammed met with Dr. Chris Bonnett, the Maltese Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works; Adegboyega Oyetola, the Nigerian Minister of Maritime Affairs and Blue Economy; and Dr. Saeed Rasouli, the Iranian Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development. The primary focus of these meetings was to explore and expand bilateral cooperation in areas such as maritime transport, ports, and other related services.

The discussions also addressed enhancing cooperation and expanding its scope, while touching on topics of mutual interest. Global developments in maritime safety, marine environment protection, and the facilitation of international maritime navigation were also key points of conversation during these strategic talks.
