Meteorology Department Forecasts Poor Visibility in Inshore Areas

Doha: The Department of Meteorology has warned of poor horizontal visibility in some inshore areas early Thursday. In its daily weather report, the department highlighted that inshore conditions until 6:00 p.m. will initially be misty to foggy in certain locations, transitioning to hot to very hot temperatures during the day with a slight chance of local rainy clouds by noon.

According to Qatar News Agency, offshore conditions are expected to be hazy at times. The winds inshore will vary, predominantly blowing from the northeasterly to southeasterly direction at speeds between 05-15 knots. Offshore, the winds will mainly be from the northeasterly to southeasterly at 03-13 knots.

The sea conditions inshore are anticipated to range from 1-2 feet, while offshore seas will be between 1-3 feet. Visibility is projected to range from 4-9 kilometers both inshore and offshore, but inshore visibility may drop to 2 kilometers or less in some areas early in the day.
