Sanliurfa:An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale struck an area in southeastern Turkiye on Thursday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported that the epicenter was located in Sanliurfa Province. The tremors were felt by residents in neighboring provinces, including Diyarbakir, Gaziantep, and Malatya.

Authorities are currently assessing the situation to determine the extent of any damage or injuries. The affected region is known for high seismic activity due to its location along major tectonic zones, including the east and north Anatolian Faults.
