New York:Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Nabil Fahmy, engaged in discussions with Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa regarding the latest developments in Syria, as well as regional and international issues, during the United Nations General Assembly meetings.

According to Qatar News Agency, Fahmy emphasized the League's commitment to supporting Syria in maintaining its territorial unity and sovereignty, while also aiding in economic recovery and facilitating reconstruction and development in the country.

Fahmy also held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Their discussions covered regional and international developments, focusing on strengthening Arab-Russian cooperation and establishing mechanisms for joint consultation and coordination. They also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East, with particular attention to the Palestinian issue.
