Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) opened on Monday the "Artistic Expressions" exhibition by female students from Qatar University, at Building 47 in Katara.

According to Qatar News Agency, the exhibition features 41 paintings and 17 sculptures and installation works by students of the Fine Arts Program at Qatar University's College of Arts and Sciences. This event marks the culmination of the Visual Arts and Introduction to Art courses, showcasing a variety of themes and projects, including sand painting, games from around the world, installation art, acrylic painting on unconventional materials, scrap sculpture, recycling, and modeling.

Dr. Munira Al Meer, Professor of Fine Arts at Qatar University's College of Arts and Sciences, stated that the exhibition highlights a diverse artistic experience that began with thinking and research, moved to experimentation and innovation, and culminated in artworks reflecting each student's vision and individual style. She explained that the course's philosophy centers on placing the student at the heart of the creative process, allowing for research, experimentation, and discovery before transforming ideas into personalized artworks.

Dr. Al Meer emphasized that "Artistic Expressions" is an embodiment of ideas, experiences, and young talents, with each student showcasing her unique voice and artistic imprint. She congratulated her students on their achievement, commended their efforts, and expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to organizing the exhibition and supporting the students' works.

She expressed hope that this exhibition would inspire a new phase of creativity and ambition for the students, encouraging them to continue researching and experimenting. She stressed the importance of art beyond mere aesthetics, highlighting its role in fostering thinking, reflection, and the creation of knowledge.
