Israeli Forces Escalate Military Operations in Southern Lebanon

Beirut: The Israeli forces have intensified their artillery and air strikes on southern Lebanon, with reports of explosions and military maneuvers across several towns.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Lebanese National News Agency documented that Israeli forces executed a sweep through the town of Khiam using both heavy and medium machine guns, while military vehicles were actively moving within the town. In the same area, Israeli forces detonated a house in Jallahiya, amidst ongoing military maneuvers and gunfire in various neighborhoods.

Intermittent artillery shelling also targeted the outskirts of Mayfadoun, close to Zawtar al-Sharqiya. Simultaneously, Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on Mansouri, resulting in a series of massive explosions that resonated through villages and towns in southern Lebanon.

Additionally, explosions were reported in Haddatha and Tayri in the Bint Jbeil district, carried out by Israeli forces. The previous night saw Israeli warplanes conducting mock raids over Tyre and surrounding areas, along with artillery shelling.

Lebanon and the Israeli forces had previously signed a framework agreement facilitated by the US, which includes security arrangements and the redeployment of the Lebanese army in the south. The agreement also outlines steps for reconstructing affected areas, revitalizing the economy, and establishing direct communication channels between the two parties.
