Doha: Iraqi security forces announced today the arrest of several ISIS members wanted by the judiciary in the Hawija area of Kirkuk Governorate in northern Iraq.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Directorate of Intelligence and Security stated that the operation was executed based on precise intelligence regarding the presence of members of the organization wanted by the judiciary. A field team was formed in coordination with the Kirkuk Counter-Terrorism Department.
The statement added that the security force succeeded in arresting the wanted individuals and handed them over to the competent authorities to complete legal procedures against them.
Iraqi forces continue to pursue ISIS members across various governorates of the country, particularly as the militants occasionally target army, police, and security personnel through ambushes and deadly attacks.
