HH the Amir and DRC President Sign Key Agreements and MoUs in Kinshasa

Kinshasa: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Felix Tshisekedi, witnessed the signing ceremony of an agreement and multiple memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between their countries at the Presidential Palace.

According to Qatar News Agency, the leaders observed the signing of several MoUs, including one on cooperation in the field of ports between Qatar Ports Management Company (Mwani Qatar) and the National Transport Office (ONATRA SA) in the DRC. Another MoU focused on legal cooperation was established between the Ministries of Justice of the two nations. Additionally, an agreement was signed for the mutual exemption from entry visas for holders of diplomatic and special passports.

Further agreements were witnessed by HH the Amir and President Tshisekedi, including an MoU between the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and the Ministry of Social Affairs, Humanitarian Action, and National Solidarity in the DRC. This MoU aims to support the multi-sectoral emergency response project in various regions of the DRC, including North Kivu, South Kivu, Ituri, and Chubu. An MoU on cooperation in youth and sports fields was also signed.

Another significant MoU focused on conducting political consultations on issues of common interest between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Francophonie, and the Congolese Diaspora in the DRC.

The signing ceremony was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Amir, alongside Congolese ministers and senior officials.
