Government Communication Office Holds Training Workshop on State Emblem Law

Doha: The Government Communication Office (GCO) organized a specialized training workshop on the Law of the State Emblem of Qatar, in light of Law No. (2) of 2025 regarding the State Emblem, and the ratification by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, of Cabinet Resolution No. (19) of 2025 concerning the guide for emblem usage. The workshop aims to support the unified application of the State Emblem and ensure compliance with approved standards and regulations across all governmental and semi-governmental entities.

According to Qatar News Agency, the two-day workshop, held on 23 and 24 November, was attended by 30 design and visual identity specialists representing 22 governmental and semi-governmental entities. Sessions included guidance on the correct application of the emblem, enhancing compliance with national standards, improving design and visual production skills, and ensuring consistency in the emblem's use across various platforms and materials.

On this occasion, HE Director of the GCO, Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani, stated that this workshop reflects the shared responsibility to strengthen the official visual identity of the State and to ensure the unified application of the State Emblem law across all governmental and semi-governmental entities. The state emblem is not merely a visual element; it embodies the national identity and symbolises Qatar's status and developmental journey.

He added that design officers play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of visual outputs in governmental entities by applying the emblem correctly and adhering to approved technical standards. This workshop provides them with guidance tools and design resources to ensure consistency and unity in the national visual identity. Continuous support, technical resources, and training are essential to ensure compliance with uniform standards that reflect the emblem and national visual identity.

The workshop addressed the latest developments in government visual identity, the regulatory framework of the State Emblem law, mechanisms for its application, and the responsibilities of design specialists in monitoring and ensuring correct use. The Government Visual Identity Team provided detailed explanations of technical requirements and design standards outlined in the State Emblem Usage Guide, emphasizing the critical role of design officers in fostering a culture of shared compliance and unified emblem usage across all entities.

This initiative is part of an ongoing capacity-building program that consists of training and awareness sessions organized by the GCO. The program aims to develop the skills of national professionals working in communication and media across governmental and semi-governmental entities, enhancing the presentation of state initiatives and achievements in all fields.

Law No. (2) of 2025 on the State Emblem seeks to regulate and protect the emblem, ensuring its uniform application according to clear standards and preserving its symbolic value as a key component of national identity. The law also defines procedures for approving the emblem's use in governmental entities, rules for its placement on printed, official, and digital materials, and penalties for any illegal usage, in accordance with the legislation and the emblem usage guide.
