Fifth National Cyber Governance Conference Focuses on Strengthening Cybersecurity

Doha:The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) held the fifth National Cyber Governance and Assurance Affairs (NCGAA) conference under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani. The event took place on Monday with the theme of securing the digital future in an era of convergence.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali bin Mohammed Al Mannai, and HE President of the NCSA Eng. Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Farahid Al Malki attended the conference, alongside top-echelon officials and representatives from government and private sectors.

During the conference, the national cybersecurity risk management framework and the institutional cybersecurity risk management framework were launched. Several high-impact initiatives were also announced, reflecting strategic directions aimed at strengthening cybersecurity. HE Al Malki emphasized the need for a proactive cybersecurity approach that includes innovation, information exchange, and collaboration between public and private sectors to address emerging threats.

Eng. Dana Yousef Al Abdulla, Director of National Cyber Governance and Assurance Affairs at NCSA, highlighted Qatar's development under Qatar National Vision 2030. She announced a collaboration with the Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) and the launch of a compliance program and supplementary controls for national cybersecurity standards.

The conference also featured panel discussions on topics such as digital sovereignty, readiness for the post-quantum era, and risks associated with artificial intelligence in operational technology. Workshops were held on information security risk management and data privacy.

The event concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between NCSA and Crest International to raise cybersecurity standards and achieve mutual recognition for penetration testing services. The conference served as a platform for exchanging expertise and strengthening collaboration among stakeholders.
