Egyptian President and Algerian Prime Minister Discuss Strategies for Regional Stability

Cairo: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb during the latter's visit to Cairo. The meeting focused on regional and international developments and explored avenues to strengthen bilateral relations.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Presidency issued a press release detailing the discussions, which covered developments in several regional countries. Both leaders emphasized the importance of avoiding escalation due to its potential consequences. They highlighted the need to respect the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of nations, along with ensuring the well-being of their citizens. The leaders agreed on the necessity of taking steps to protect civilians and prevent violations against them.

During the discussions, President El Sisi reiterated Egypt's commitment to working with all parties to implement the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, as recently endorsed by a UN Security Council resolution. He stressed the importance of consolidating the ceasefire, preventing violations of the agreement, enhancing the flow of humanitarian aid, and preparing for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
