Cairo:Egypt has strongly condemned an attack on the Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier "Al Mayeda," owned by Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat), as it was sailing through the Arabian Gulf.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Sunday, expressing Egypt's complete rejection of the attack. The ministry described the incident as a grave breach of international law that threatens the security and freedom of international navigation.

Furthermore, Egypt expressed its full solidarity with Qatar, supporting all measures taken by Qatar to protect its sovereignty and interests. The statement highlighted the importance of maintaining maritime navigation security and safety while respecting international law rules and provisions.
