Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets US National Security Council MENA Coordinator

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met today with HE US National Security Council Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa Brett McGurk, on the sidelines on the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

 

The meeting dealt with reviewing bilateral relations and security cooperation, in addition to reviewing developments in Lebanon, Libya, Iraq, the latest developments of negotiations on the nuclear deal, and a number of issues of joint interest.

 

The meeting also dealt with preparations to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

 

The American official thanked the State of Qatar for its help in releasing an American citizen who was kidnapped in Afghanistan in 2020.
