Department of Meteorology Warns of Thundery Rain, Strong Wind and High Sea

Doha: The Department of Meteorology warned in its daily weather report of thundery rain offshore with strong wind and high sea until 6:00 p.m. today. Inshore, it will be misty at places at first, with scattered clouds to partly cloudy at times, and there is a chance of light rain during the daytime and relatively cold temperatures.

According to Qatar News Agency, offshore conditions will be partly cloudy to cloudy with a chance of scattered rain, which may be thundery at first. Wind inshore will be mainly northwesterly, ranging from 07-12 knots and gusting to 18 knots at places at times. Offshore, the wind will be northwesterly at 10 to 20 knots, gusting to 35 knots with thundery rain, decreasing to 05-15 knots by evening.

The sea state inshore will be between 2-4 feet, rising to 5 feet with thundery rain, while offshore will range from 3-6 feet, rising to 10 feet with thundery rain. Visibility inshore will be between 4-9 km, reducing to 3 km or less during thundery rain. Offshore visibility will be 3-6 km, also reducing to 3 kilometers or less with thundery rain.
