Coordination, Strengthening of Joint Gulf Military Action Are Essential, GCC Secretary-General Underlines

Kuwait city: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, affirmed Tuesday the importance of coordination among the GCC states to enhance joint Gulf military action and pave all ways to ensure its continuous success.

According to Qatar News Agency, joint military action among the GCC states receives special attention and care from Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC member states, stemming from their profound belief in the bonds of unity that bring their nations together, and their realization of the pivotal role played by the armed forces in protecting the security and stability of GCC states, Albudaiwi said during the 22nd Session of the Joint Defence Council of the GCC held in Kuwait Tuesday.

This is in addition to safeguarding their safety and sovereignty and elevating these forces' role to keep pace with the aspirations of the GCC peoples, he noted, emphasizing that the leaders underline the significance of continuing this blessed Gulf pathway in order to bolster its ability to deal with various challenges and threats, both present and future.

Albudaiwi further pointed out that the agenda of this meeting includes numerous topics that contribute to upgrading the GCC states' endeavors in the fields of joint military action, ensuring persistent cooperation and coordination in all aspects of collective security, protecting GCC states, and maintaining their sovereignty and stability, particularly given that the security of the GCC states is an indivisible whole.
