Doha:Oil prices edged higher as Brent crude futures rose by 0.3% to $100.59 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures increased by 0.3% to $89.73 a barrel.

According to Qatar News Agency, the rise in oil prices followed a recent agreement by G7 countries to release 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil from emergency reserves. Additionally, these countries committed to avoiding restrictions on energy exports, a decision influenced by pressure from US President Donald Trump.
