Bahraini and Emirati Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Security and Strait of Hormuz

Manama: The foreign minister of Bahrain, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, and the foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, engaged in a phone call focusing on the latest updates in the Middle East.

According to Qatar News Agency, the discussion revolved around regional developments and included an exchange of views on several issues of mutual concern. The ministers reviewed efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions, enhancing security, and promoting stability in the region. They also talked about reopening the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic to ensure the safety and security of navigation, while protecting the rights and interests of regional countries and the international community. This discussion aligns with international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
